You're invited to a Fair Trade Fundraiser!
Hopefully the word is out by now, but if you
haven’t
heard yet, there’s a new group of Fair Trade advocates in town.
The group is
called Fair Trade Ottawa Équitable and their mandate is to
empower our
community to purchase ethically and spread the word on Fair Trade
issues. This
group of volunteers is putting all their efforts into community
outreach and
working towards the goal of making Ottawa a Fair Trade city.
We cordially
invite you to come out and show your support at the first annual
fundraiser for
Fair Trade Ottawa Équitable.
FTO-É is partnering with Ten Thousand Villages,
Equator coffee and Cocoa Camino to bring you a night of music, treats,
shopping
and fun! There will be Fair Trade, organic coffee, chocolate and juice
samples,
live music and amazing products to purchase.

Ten Thousand Villages in Ottawa sells fairly traded products
from around the world. Our
two stores sell a wide variety of hand-made crafts, such as
linens, jewellery, toys, ceramics, musical instruments, home decor and
much more.
And don't miss our Fair Trade food section which includes
coffee, chocolate, cocoa, tea, sugar, spices, jams, olive oil and
chutneys. Check out our products page to
learn more.
Our stores are
the ideal location for meaningful gifts for any occasion - birthdays,
weddings, graduations - and a gift registry is available. In the fall
you'll also find an unmatched selection of Christmas ornaments and
other seasonal decorations. We can also create gift baskets for
personal or corporate giving.
Fair Trade items purchased at Ten Thousand Villages allow artisans in
developing countries to provide food, healthcare, education and housing
for their families.
The two stores are operated by Ottawa Alternative Trade
Corporation - a not-for-profit organization - and we rely on volunteers
for many of our retail positions. Your purchase makes a
difference.
