OUTREACH
We
have a powerful story to tell and we are always looking for ways
to promote our mission of providing a fair income to artisans around
the world. We have staff and volunteers available to present to your
group, or we can host you at one of our stores for an information
and shopping evening. We also participate in events in other communities.
Looking
for a fun and easy way to fundraise? Want to build community at home
and abroad? Ten Thousand Villages offers you a unique opportunity
to do so!
We
would love to host your group at one of our stores, with your guests
enjoying free coffee and snacks while casually exploring an environment
of culturally rich and fairly traded products. Not only will your
event help support artisans around the world, but 10% of sales will
go directly to your organization of choice.
We
are able to help groups to organize exclusive shopping events, as
well as to distribute coupons for supporters to visit the store
on a particular day. If you would like to discuss the possibility
of partnering with Ten Thousand Villages in a fundraising initiative,
please be in touch with one of our stores.
Would
your Church group, school, workplace or other organisation be interested
in learning how fair trade makes a difference to thousands of people
in some of the poorest parts of the world? One of our store managers
recently spent some time in Bangladesh and India visiting our artisans
so has direct experience of conditions in those countries, and some
great stories to share with you!
Please
contact one of our stores to request a presentation
- we can work with almost any schedule and will usually provide
coffee, tea or chocolate samples for your group.
We provide
products and support to a number of organisations who hold sales of
Ten Thousand Villages fairly traded products in their own communities.
Charities, non-profit organisations and fundraising efforts are allowed
to keep a portion of the proceeds for their own work. Please
contact us if you would like more information. Please note that
we do need considerable lead-time (at least 2 months) to organise
such events, especially if your event would be large, or taking place
during the busy Christmas season.
